Yesterday, Spenser and I saw The Muppets. And boy was it well worth ten bucks. This movie was great in many respects. It had me laughing, crying, and laughing until I cried. It was a perfect feel-good movie and was just all around heart warming, fitting for the holiday season. The musical numbers were catchy and just oh so stuck-in-your-head-for-days worthy. Some of my personal favorites include “Me Party,” featuring Amy Adams and Miss Piggy, and “Man Or Muppet,” with Jason Segel and Walter. Besides the Muppets themselves, the cast was perfectly selected and there were enough cameos in it for any viewer of any age to enjoy. Jason Segel and Amy Adams were not only adorable together as Gary and Mary, but were just the right amount of cheery to make this film fun to watch while still completely bearable. Also perfect for all ages, The Muppets did a great job of being something that kids, adults, and all the in betweens will be wanting to see. By having enough silliness and music to keep the little ones entertained, the movie also allowed plenty of time to reach out to nostalgic audience members who grew up with the Muppets, providing them with the fix of the little furry critters they craved. Even if you’ve never seen The Muppet Show (if this is the case, I suggest you go watch it when you’re done reading), this movie was still a fun, heartening flick that will make you wonder why you’ve never watched these guys before. So whether you’re looking for a movie that is family-friendly or just looking for something fun to watch, The Muppets is one that will leave you feeling good and singing the catchy tunes for days.
